Sandalphon is only one of two archangels whose name doesn't end with an "el" (which means "God" in Hebrew). Sandalphon's name means "brother" in Greek, a reference to his twin brother, the Archangel Metatron. The twins are the only archangels in Heaven who were originally mortal men. Sandalphon was the prophet Elijah, and Metatron was the wise man Enoch. God gave both men their immortal assignments as archangels to reward them for their good work on Earth, allowing them to continue their sacred service from Heaven. Elijah's ascension occurred when he was lifted up to Heaven in a fiery chariot pulled by two horses of fire, accompanied by a whirlwind, an event recorded in the second chapter of the Book of 2 Kings.
In the Tree of Life, Archangel Sandalphon is the 10th Sephirah, representing Malkut (Shekinah), God's Presence in the World.
When we talk about Archangel Sandalphon, we think of clear water with a refreshing aqua - turquoise color, an invigorating breeze offering inner peace. When you are nervous or tense just imagine this cooling turquoise breeze surrounding you and giving you inner peace. Call on Sandalphon as often as you can in times of stress and confusion.
Sandalphon's chief role is to carry human prayers to God so they may be answered. Archangel Sandalphon's messages and musings come as soft whispers on the wings of angels—they're so gentle that they can breeze by if you're not paying attention. When you invoke Sandalphon, stay aware of any words or music you hear in your mind, as they're most likely answers to your prayers.
Archangel Sandalphon helps us with:
* Music, healing through music, tones, or sound
* Developing or embracing musical talent
* Prayers, delivering and answering
* Learning how to receive
* Living in integrity, answering questions of ethics
* Developing, accepting and understanding spiritual gifts

Scents: patchouli, sage and sandalwood
On working with Archangel Sandalphon:
While most archangels are attracted easily by invocation (repeating their name 3 times), I have always found Sandalphon appears when engaged in earthly creative pursuits. He will draw close when you are tending to nature because he himself is a guardian of the earth and all its life – for example, gardening, conservation work, caring for animals or appreciating a nature walk. He will also draw close if you are engaged in a creative act, especially writing, composing poetry, or making music. It is said that he loves to be present when a congregation is singing praises. If you call upon him when writing poetry, he may even stream some of his own angelic poetry through you and every time I have channelled Archangel Sandalphon, he has spoken in rhyme and somewhat cryptically, though I believe he can also channel wisdom through art and other forms of writing. The mineral fulgurite – otherwise known as prayer pipe – is a good stone to work with if you wish to invoke the assistance of Archangel Sandalphon. He is also attracted to the earthy, cleansing, purifying and grounding scents of patchouli, sage and, perhaps unsurprisingly, sandalwood.

I like Sandalphon's color. So bright and positive. Recently, I started saying archangel sandalphon prayer to connect with his beautiful, warm energy.
